    What can I do with the WiFi feature on MP-350?

    With the WiFi feature on MP-350, you can wireless connect BOXi MP-350 to smartphones, tablets, or PCs/Macs. What you can actually do with WiFi varies depending on the type of device.

    - Smartphones / Tablets
    You can wireless project Office files or images saved on BOXi Air (dedicated application).

    - PCs/Macs :
    Using the dedicated software BOXi Play, you can mirror* your PC/Mac’s screen with Boxi, or connect up to 4 PCs or Macs to Boxi and project four screens simultaneously.
    *Screen mirroring is a function to display the screen of one device on the screen of another device exactly as it is.

    Are BOXi Air and BOXi Play compatible with all BOXi projectors?

    Please note that there are restrictions on compatible devices
    BOXi Air… Compatible with MP-350 Only. Please note that Ver.1 is not compatible with Android devices.
    BOXi Play… Compatible with MP-350 Only.

    What do I need to use BOXi Air on MP-350?

    You will need the following devices and applications:

    -MP-350
    -iOS device (iPhone/iPad/iPod touch) or Android device
    -BOXi Air*
    *BOXi Air for iOS can be downloaded from App Store. BOXi Air for Android can be downloaded from Google Store. Search for “BOXi Air” at the respective store.

    What OS is compatible with BOXi Air?

    BOXi Air is compatible with the following OSs:
    iOS(iPhone/iPad/iPod touch): 3.2 or more* **
    *You will need iOS4.2 or more to use PhotoViewer.
    **You will need iOS5.0 or more to use the slideshow feature.

    Android OS: 2.2 or more***
    ***CPU 600MHz or more (Duo-core 1GHz or more is recommended)

    How can I project movies saved on a USB flash drive with MP-350?

    Follow the following steps to play movies saved on a USB flash drive.
    1) Press [Menu Button] on the remote or the control panel of MP-350.
    2) Select [Select Input Signal Icon] .
    3) Select [USB Icon]
    4) Select [Movies]
      Once selected, the list of playable movie files will be displayed on the screen. Select the file you want to play, and press [OK].

    How can I project photos saved on a USB flash drive with MP-350?

    Follow the following steps to view images saved on a USB flash drive.
    1) Press [Menu Button] on the remote or the control panel of MP-350.
    2) Select [Select Input Signal Icon] .
    3) Select [USB Icon] .
    4) Select [Images] .
      Once selected, the list of viewable photos will be displayed on the screen. Select the file you want to view, and press [OK].

    How can I project Office files saved on a USB flash drive with MP-350?

    Follow the following steps to view Office files saved on a USB flash drive.

Troubleshooting

  • TS-1

    When I start up BOXi Air for MP-350, WiFi is not working and an error message says "Please turn on Wi-Fi."

    This problem may be caused by the following reasons.
    Please check the followings (1-5) to solve the issue.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.

    1. Is your BOXi’s projection screen showing “WiFi Standby Screen”?
    Show “WiFi Standby Screen” on BOXi’s projection screen.
    Follow the following steps to show “WiFi Standby Screen”.

    1) Press [Menu Button] on the remote or the control panel of PM-350.
    2) Select [Select Input Signal Icon].
    3) Select [WiFi Icon].
    4) Select [WiFi Video Output].
    5) Select [WiFi Standby Screen].

    2) Is BOXi’s SSID (BOXi-xxxxxxx) selected in settings on your smartphone/tablet?
    SSID is the combination of letters and numbers, expressed as BOXi-xxxxxxx . Replace xxxxxxx with the numbers on the bottom of your BOXi device. Please check the followings.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.

    1) Go to [Settings] on your iPhone or iPad.
    2) Tap [Wi-Fi] to open the screen on the right, and turn on WiFi.
    3) Tap the SSID for your BOXi under [Choose a Network...].
    4) Once connected, ✔ mark will appear on the left of “BOXi-xxxxxxxx”.

    3. Is “static” selected on the network settings?
    Change the network settings on your BOXi to “static” .

    4. Are the IP address and subnet mask correct?

    Use the following IP address and subnet mask for smartphones/tablets.

    IP Address : 192.168.100.***
    Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

    *The last *** of the IP address are given numbers from 0 to 254 (except 10).

    5. Is WiFi icon is displayed on the screen of your device?

    Open Boxi Air after veryfying the settings (No.1 – 4 above) and the WiFi icon is displayed on top of your smartphone/tablet’s screen.

    - If the icon is not displayed:
     →Please check the steps in 4. Are the IP address and subnet mask correct?.

    I cannot connect to WiFi. I am using an iPhone/3G-connected iPad with MP-350.

    To connect to WiFi using an iPhone or 3G-connected iPad, you may need to configure the settings as follows.

    Steps may vary depending on the wireless carrier and the version of iOS.
    The step below are based on au’s iPhone 4S.

    1. Tap [Settings] – [General] – [Network] .
    2. Swipe [Mobile Data Communication] button from [On] to [Off].
    3. Configure the settings.
      To configure the settings, please see the troubleshooting steps under When I start up BOXi Air for MP-350, WiFi is not working and an error message says “Please turn on Wi-Fi”.

    The SSID (BOXi-xxxxxxx) is not displayed on my MP-350's start screen, and BOXi Air cannot connect to WiFi.

    The problem in which the SSID (BOXi-xxxxxxx) is not displayed on BOXi Air’s start screen may be caused by the following reasons.
    Please check the followings.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.
    1. Is your BOXi’s projection screen showing “WiFi Standby Screen”?
    Show “WiFi Standby Screen” on BOXi’s projection screen.
    Follow the following steps to show “WiFi Standby Screen”.

    1) Press [Menu Button] on the remote or the control panel of PM-350.
    2) Select [Select Input Signal Icon].
    3) Select [WiFi Icon].
    4) Select [WiFi Video Output].
    5) Select [WiFi Standby Screen].

    2. Tap [Search Again] button located on the upper right of BOXi Air’s start screen.
    The device will search again for networks within range.

    3. Enter the IP address for BOXi in [Specify IP Address].

    1) Tap [Specify IP Address].
    2) Enter the IP address for BOXi, and tap [Connect].
      The initial values of the IP address are 192.168.100.10.
    3) The login code input screen will appear. Enter your login code* to log in.
      *Login code is 4-digit numbers found on the upper left of [WiFi Standby Screen].

    I cannot connect to WiFi because my SSID (BOXi-xxxxxxx) is not displayed in the BOXi Air settings for MP-350.

    This problem may be caused by the following reasons.
    Please check the followings to solve the issue.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.

    1. Is BOXi’s WiFi indicator lit in blue?
    The WiFi indicator will become solid blue once the device is successfully connected to WiFi.
    The SSID will not be shown when the idicator is blinking. Wait until the indicator is solid blue.
    2. Is [Wi-Fi] on your iPhone/iPad turned on?.
    Go to [Settings]-[Network Settings]-[Wi-Fi] to turn on WiFi.
    3. Reboot BOXi.
    1) Turn off BOXi, and then turn it on again.
    2) Once the WiFi indicator becomes solid blue, go to the [Wi-Fi] settings on your smartphone/tablet. .
    3) Turn on [Wi-Fi] as you did in Step 2.
     Tap the SSID for your BOXi under [Choose a Network...] to configure the settings.
    - To configure the settings, please see the troubleshooting steps under When I start up BOXi Air for MP-350, WiFi is not working and an error message says “Please turn on Wi-Fi”.

  • TS-5

    I checked all the settings and they are correct, but I can't connect to WiFi from BOXi Air for MP-350.

    If you checked all the settings and still cannot connect to WiFi, turn off the BOXi device and check the followings.

    1. Reconfigure the network.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.

    1) Go to [Settings] – [Wi-Fi].
    2) Tap the right arrow of the SSID for your Boxi to open [Network Settings] -> [Screen 1].
    3) Tap [Delete this network] to delete.
    4) Once the network is deleted, tap [Wi-Fi] on the right upper screen to go back to [Wi-Fi Network] -> [Screen 2].
    5) Turn on [Wi-Fi] on [Screen 2].
    6) Select the SSID (BOXi-xxxxxxx) for your BOXi under [Choose a Network].
    7) Tap the right arrow of the SSID(BOXi-xxxxxxx) to open [Network Settings] -> [Screen 1].
    8) Enter different numbers for the fourth octet of the IP address.
    9) Go back to home screen and open BOXi Air.

    2. Using BOXi Ver.1 with an Android device?
    If you are using a Ver.1 projector, you cannot use BOXi Air on Android devices. Please use a Ver.2 model or iOS devices.

    3. Using T-350?
    We’re sorry, but T-350 is not supported for BOXi Air.

    I cannot connect to WiFi from BOXi Play for MP-350.

    This problem of being unable to connect to WiFi may be caused by the following reasons.
    Please check the followings to solve the issue.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.

    1. Is your BOXi’s projection screen showing “WiFi Standby Screen”?
    Show “WiFi Standby Screen” on BOXi’s projection screen.
    Follow the following steps to show “WiFi Standby Screen”.

    1) Press [Menu Button] on the remote or the control panel of PM-350.
    2) Select [Select Input Signal Icon].
    3) Select [WiFi Icon].
    4) Select [WiFi Video Output].
    5) Select [WiFi Standby Screen].

    2. Is the SSID for your BOXi (BOXi-xxxxxxx) selected in your computer’s settings and the connection successfully completed?
    SSID is the combination of letters and numbers, expressed as BOXi-xxxxxxx . Replace xxxxxxx with the numbers on the bottom of your BOXi device.

    1) Go to [Start] – [Control Panel]
    2) Go to [Network and Internet]-[Network and Sharing Center], and then select [Connect to a Network] .
    3) Once the screen on the right is displayed, click on the SSID for your BOXi, and then click on [Connect].
    4) Once connected, “Connected” will be displayed on the right side of BOXi-xxxxxxx.

    3. Is “Static IP Configuration” selected for the network settings?
    Select “Use the following IP address” for the IP address and subnet mask for your BOXi device.

    If you are using Internet Protocol Version 4, follow the following steps to display properties.

    1) Go to [Start] – [Control Panel]
    2) Select [Network and Internet]-[Network and Sharing Center]
    Click on “Wireless Network Connection (BOXi-xxxxxxxx)”.*
    *SSID will not be displayed until the connection between your BOXi and computer is completed.
    Please see the above troubleshooting question 2. Is the SSID for your BOXi (BOXi-xxxxxxx) selected in your computer’s settings and the connection successfully completed?.
    3) The [Wireless Network Connections Status] window will open. Click on [Properties].
    4) The [Wireless Network Connections Properties]window will open. Select [Internet Protcol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)], and then click on [Properties].
      *Please see 5. Are the IP address and subnet mask correct? for the values for the IP address and subnet mask.

    4. Are the IP address and subnet mask correct?

    Use the following IP address and subnet mask for smartphones/tablets.

    IP Address : 192.168.100.***
    Subnet mask : 255.255.255.0

    *The last *** of the IP address are given numbers from 0 to 254 (except 10).
    Once the values are entered, click [OK] to close the window.

    5. Using T-350?
    We’re sorry, but T-350 is not supported for BOXi Air.

    I am using BOXi Play with MP-350. The numbers (BOXi-xxxxxxx) are not displayed on the WiFi settings screen.

    This problem may be caused by the following reasons.
    Please check the followings to solve the issue.
    *The steps below are based on iOS. If you are using Android, please see the instruction manuals for your device as well as the following steps.

    1. Is BOXi’s WiFi indicator lit in blue?
    The WiFi indicator will become solid blue once the device is succesfully connected to WiFi.
    The SSID will not be shown when the idicator is blinking. Wait until the indicator becomes soild blue.

    2. Click on the refresh button for WiFi on your computer.
    Your computer will display all WiFi networks within range.

    3. Reboot BOXi.
    1) Turn off BOXi, and then turn it on again.
    2) Once the WiFi indicator is lit in blue, go to [Connect Network] on your computer.
    3) Click on the refresh button as you did above.
    4) Tap the SSID for your BOXi and configure the settings.

    The picture on the screen is distorted.

    You can fix vertical distortion using the feature called “keystone adjustment”. Follow the following steps.

    <To fix vertical distortion using the control panel of PM-350>
    1. Press [Menu Button] on the remote or the control panel of PM-350.
    2. Select [Keystone Adjustment].
    3. The keystone adjustment screen will appear. Fix distortion using < and > buttons.

    When I press the power button, the device will not turn on.

    Hold the power button for a little longer to turn on the device.

    The picture on the screen is distorted. How can I fix it?
